EV Charger Compatibility & Standards

A: This charger is compatible with electric vehicles supporting Type 1 (SAE J1772), Type 2 (IEC 62196-2), Tesla NACS, and GB/T charging standards. Please check your vehicle’s charging port type before ordering.

A: Yes. Our portable EV chargers can be used for home charging, road trips and emergency charging. However, for fixed daily use, we recommend a home wallbox charger for more stable installation and longer-term convenience.

A: Type 1 is commonly used in North America and some older EV models, while Type 2 is widely used in Europe and many international EV models. Please choose the connector that matches your vehicle’s charging port.

A: It depends on your vehicle’s charging port and local socket standard. We offer various charging cables, connectors and adapters to support different market requirements.

Charging Performance & Speed

A: Charging time depends on your vehicle battery capacity, current charging level and the charger’s power output. For example, a 32A portable charger or 7kW home wallbox usually provides much faster charging than a standard 10A/16A household charger.

A: A 3.5kW charger is suitable for slow to medium-speed charging. It is ideal for overnight home charging or occasional emergency charging. Actual charging speed may vary depending on your vehicle, battery status and ambient temperature.

A: Not always. The actual charging speed is limited by three factors: The charger’s maximum output power, The vehicle’s onboard charging capability, The available household power supply. If your car only supports 7kW AC charging, even a 22kW charger will not charge faster than 7kW.

A: This usually happens because your vehicle only supports single-phase AC charging. If the vehicle’s onboard charger does not support three-phase charging, the actual power will be limited.

Product Selection & Usage

A: A home wallbox charger is designed for fixed installation and daily home charging. It usually provides stable power output and optional smart functions such as app control, RFID and scheduled charging. A portable EV charger is smaller and easier to carry. It is more suitable for emergency charging, road trips and occasional home use.

A: Yes, but we recommend storing it in a cool, dry place. Avoid exposing the charger to high temperatures, rain or strong sunlight for long periods.

A: Many of our chargers and charging cables support IP54 or similar waterproof ratings, which means they can withstand light rain and splashes. However, they should not be fully immersed in water or used in heavy rain for extended periods.

Installation & Electrical Safety

A: Installation involves electrical wiring and household power capacity assessment. If you have professional electrical knowledge, you may install it according to the installation manual. If you are unsure, we strongly recommend contacting a certified electrician.

A: Yes, proper protection devices are important for safe charging. We recommend installing a suitable residual current device to protect the charging circuit.

A: We do not recommend using uncertified extension cords with EV chargers. Poor-quality extension cords may cause overheating, voltage drop or safety risks.

A: Yes. Our charger features a ”Not grounded protect“ Mode (无地线/无接地保护模式), allowing normal charging even when no ground wire is present.

A: RCD Type A provides AC leakage protection, while RCD Type B provides both AC and DC leakage protection. For EV charger installation, Type B protection is often recommended for better safety performance.

Smart App & WiFi Control

A: You can scan the QR code on the product manual/device to download the corresponding app, or you can search for “Smart Life” or “Tuya” in your mobile app store to install the app.

A: 1. Turn on the charger and make sure it is powered. 2. Open the corresponding app and register or log in. 3. Select “Add Device” and follow the pairing guide. 4. Connect the charger to your home WiFi network. 5. Complete setup and test the remote control function.

A: One device can only be bound to one mobile phone. If you need to bind another mobile phone, please unbind the device on the first mobile phone first.

A: Most EV charger WiFi modules support 2.4GHz networks. If your router only provides 5GHz WiFi, the charger may not be able to connect. Please make sure your phone and charger are connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi network during setup.

Troubleshooting

A: Please check these points: Is the charger connected to power and WiFi? Is the vehicle correctly connected? Has the scheduled charging time been set correctly in the app? Does the charger support delayed charging in your current mode?

A: Yes, many of our chargers support adding multiple RFID cards. This is convenient for families or shared charging scenarios.

A: Check if the charger is powered on. Make sure your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi network. Try moving closer to the charger. Restart the charger and try pairing again. If the problem continues, contact customer support.

A: First, check the power supply, socket and vehicle connection. If there is no obvious problem, please contact customer support and provide your product model, purchase channel and fault description.

Error Handling & Troubleshooting

A: Press and rotate the reset button on the side of the device to complete the hardware reset. After resetting, reconnect the power supply, and the charger will resume normal operation.

A:Touch the button for 3-5 seconds to enter the charger’s main menu → Select the “Not grounded protect” option to use it normally.

A: The RFID lock function may be activated. You can go to Device Settings > RFID Management to turn off the card lock restriction, or re-bind the unrecognized cards.

A: First unplug and re-plug the charging cable tightly, or reboot the whole device. If the fault remains unchanged, take clear photos or videos of the fault phenomenon, then contact our customer service for after-sales support.
